It is the month of September, and we are focusing on the Muscular System. This system of the body functions to pump blood throughout the body, help with movement, and support the body by maintaining its posture. There are smooth muscles that work when we are awake and asleep to help make it function correctly. There are cardiac muscles that make up the heart. Finally, there are skeletal muscles that we think of as the traditional "muscle", helping the body move and stand up. On the energetic level, muscle pain is related to succumbing to fears, inflamed thinking, and anger that makes us "see red". This week, we are focusing on muscular strain, tension, and spams. Our top three essences to help are Blue Hemlock Spruce, Buddha Wood, and Spanish Marjoram.
Blue Hemlock Spruce is a conifer tree and grandmother spirit that can live well over 1,000 years. She has high levels of cortisol to help with inflammation, and she is a wonderfully wise ally when feeling stressed or overwhelmed. Blue Hemlock Spruce works wonderfully on muscle spasms and tension. She helps to eliminate muscle pain, repairs nerves, and helps arthritic conditions. Overall, she is here to help us address our stress, anxiety, and fear in order to have freedom in our bodies and deeper relationships once again.
Buddha Wood is an anointing essence who's name means "desert love". She is a relaxation, meditation, and healing wood essence that helps with muscle spasms, inflammation, pain, and arthritis, and promotes rest. Buddha Wood helps relieve stress and anxiety while grounding one into peace and an inner state of calmness.
Spanish Marjoram is an evergreen perennial shrub that has been known to be a symbol of Love, honor, and happiness. She has been researched extensively as a powerful pain reliever, sedative, and anti-spasmodic. She is wonderful for muscle tension, spasms, and strains. Spanish Marjoram is a soul awakener that supports the manifestation of one's dream life. She helps to clear the mental body, ground, focus, and be the change that is desired in one's life.
These three essences work wonderfully together. It is best to use essences for one month for every year you have had the symptoms that are being treated. In general, for the average adult weight and height, five to ten drops "neat" on the skin is enough to start anointing each essence 2-3 times a day. Always do a test patch on the inner arm to make sure that the essences are not too powerful to anoint "neat" on your skin. If they bring up a healing response, then use the bottoms of the feet to anoint, and meditate on what is coming up and out emotionally for healing. Anoint onto the skin by layering Blue Hemlock Spruce, Spanish Marjoram, and Buddha Wood. Pour the plant medicine directly over the the areas of concern - and in this case it is where the body feels the discomfort. These plants work well together, and can help the healing process greatly. All essences are safe to ingest in small amounts (3-5 drops in an ounce of water is a good start). Use your intuition to guide the way, and remember that less is always more in most cases, and the body knows what's best - so always listen to it.
