Essence Protocol of the Week: The Reproductive System and The Prostate...

It's June, and the reproductive system is highlighted all month long. This week, we are looking at plants that help with prostate health. Our favorite three essences that support healing the prostate are Blue Yarrow, Sandalwood, and Scotch Pine.

The Prostate is a walnut sized gland that is located just below the bladder in men. It is responsible for producing semen in order to transport the sperm during ejaculation. Because it surrounds the top of the urinary tube that drains to the bladder, bacteria can easily enter and cause problems if not treated. Prostatitis is the swelling and inflammation of the Prostate Gland that causes painful or difficult urination. Prostate issues usually happen when a man has recently had a UTI, a catheter, a prostate biopsy, an infection, HIV, AIDS, anal sex, or an injured pelvis. Energetically, Prostatitis manifests with too much sexual pressure or sexual guilt. It is also a result of the fear of aging, the fear of not being masculine enough, or the thoughts around giving up completely.

Blue Yarrow has been used by our ancestors for more than 60,000 years. She is helpful for prostate inflammation, tumors, cancer, and inflammation. Since the prostate is effected by the bladder, Blue Yarrow is a wonderful supporter of healing. She helps to remove congestion and stagnation, support kidney function, and helps to fight infection. Energetically, she supports one to trust the self and listen to the heart, even when others say not to. Blue Yarrow teaches to say no to anything that does not align, and surrender to one's highest self. She helps us get out of any rut and stop resisting what the Universe is gifting.

Sandalwood is a wood essence from a small tropical tree in Southeast Asia. In 1946, she was prescribed in capsule form to treat urinary tract infections and gonorrhea. Sandalwood is powerful to anoint for urinary bladder infections, kidney and bladder inflammation, and prostate congestion. Scientists have reported that Sandalwood is a known inhibitor of prostate cancer in vitro. Energetically, she is connected to knowing yourself and being the person you have always wanted to be. It is about releasing blocks and being comfortable in your own skin. Sandalwood is great to help one open the sexual and throat chakras.

Scotch Pine is an evergreen coniferous tree that is anti-viral, anti-fungal, and anti-microbial. She helps urinary infections and the prostate. Scotch Pine has the energetic blessing of helping to heal abuses and other weaknesses in order to restore Hope. She is a teacher of being more grounded, present, and Light, by allowing things to wash over you instead of it sticking to you and continuing to cause pain. Scotch Pine promotes a positive spiritual attitude that manifests blessing after blessing. Together, these three essences help to bring harmony to the prostate on all levels.

It is best to use essences for one month for every year you have had the symptoms that are being treated. In general, for the average adult weight and height, five to ten drops "neat" on the skin is enough to start anointing each essence 2-3 times a day. Always do a test patch on the inner arm to make sure that the essences are not too powerful to anoint "neat" on your skin. If they bring up a healing response, then use the bottoms of the feet to anoint, and meditate on what is coming up and out emotionally for healing. Sandalwood essences can be used safely to anoint onto the lower abdomen and lower back, as well as into a hot tea or glass of water by adding a few drops. Drinking these will support the urinary tract in healing on all levels. Scotch Pine is wonderful to drink as well. Blue Yarrow can be anointed onto the abdomen and lower back, as well as on the wrists and neck in order to get it into the blood stream. The urinary tract benefits greatly from both the internal and external use of plant medicine. All essences are safe to ingest in small amounts. Use intuition to guide the way, and remember that less is always more.
