Universal Planetary Influence: Universal Saturn Period (January 27th - March 20th)...

The Universal Saturn Period is a 53-day cycle of discipline, patience, and stillness. Think of the fruit stage of a tree, encompassing the entire cycle that started from seed, and reaping the rewards of the hard work and creative spark that was nurtured through it's phases of growth. Saturn is the great teacher that helps to strengthen us on our spiritual journey by taking score on what is working and what needs to be changed immediately. This is a cycle of time that asks us to slow down and go inward, focusing on our spiritual practice and inner reflections. Through our desire to seek wisdom, we are able to "Know Thyself", which is the teaching of Saturn. When we are in tune with the Self, then it is much easier to let go of what is no longer serving the higher purpose and create a life of fulfillment and happiness. 

Saturn rules over the land, farming, gardening, real estate, wills, the elderly, trees, and all material energies that have taken their time to mature to fruition on this planet. Known as the planet of darkness, this is not the best time to start new projects, get married, or initiate a new contract, unless it is a will or real estate contract. This time represents the end of a cycle, not a new beginning. Keep in mind that it is most beneficial to bring in things into our lives when the moon is waxing, and let things go when the moon is waning. 

Some feel overly emotional, depressed, or frustrated during the Universal Saturn time. This is why it is best to reflect and go inward instead of creating a karmic situation for ourselves to have to resolve at a different time and space. When we feel darkness, it's a time to go toward the Light. Read sacred texts that inspire higher thinking, and raise the vibratory frequency by meditating on the Sun, Divine Light, and the sacred breath of life. We will be required to stay on top of our health during this time due to an extra vulnerability to illness. Keeping the aura strong by doing the energetic healing practices can greatly enhance our experiences with Saturn. This time of darkness is not "bad", but simply a time of hibernation in the womb of the soul. Withdraw and take a break in order to listen to the heart. This is the best time to till the soil of our lives in preparation for the Spring.
