The fifteenth week of the year is ruled by the planetary influence of Venus, and the The Devil archetype. Venus is the planet of harmony, romance, play, the arts, and luxury. When Venus enters the room, our senses awaken and the scents, colors, textures, shapes, and energies of everything in the space come alive. It is a feeling planet that helps us connect to the heart and the power of Love. Venus rules over nature, the flowers, and Divine grace. When Venus is in the mix, we may feel more sensitive and drawn to things that make us feel Loved, cozy, and at peace.
The Devil is the archetype of our shadows. It brings up the areas that we have had attachments to that are no longer serving our highest good. This archetype can show up as addictions, emotional entanglements, unhealthy habits, or codependent relationships. The Devil is the ultimate illusion because it doesn't exist. It is the void of Light that causes the darkness to thrive. In the illusions, we can find validation, a false sense of security, or misconceptions about Love or other relationships in our lives. Instead of avoiding the darkness, all we need to do is shine the Light upon it so that we can see the Truth and understand how Love may have turned toward fear, attachments, control, or manipulation.
In order to work with Venus under the influence of The Devil, we have to choose the highest forms of Love at every turn. Instead of choosing blame, shame, impulsivity, numbing, or people-pleasing, we can stop and choose to act consciously in a way that nurtures the soul. The gift that The Devil brings is the ability to dig out the real truth underneath the surface. This is where peace dwells. When we say what we mean, do what we say, and let go of unhealthy energies and practices, then we are able to manifest real harmony in our lives. Integrating and processing all of the darkness and "messiness" in our lives is how we grow and create long-term happiness, security, and peace. The Devil arrives this week to bring up the sludge and help us transform our lives for the better. This is the week that supports us in coming to bloom!
