Aromatherapy Share: Essence of the Week - Mace (Myristica fragrans)...
Mace is a Certified Organic seed husk essence from France that is the outer covering of the Nutmeg Seed. She grows from an evergreen tree with spreading branches and yellow fleshy fruit. Inside the fruit, there is an egg-shaped hard seed with a dried "lacy" covering that is red in color, and the source of the spice called Mace. In traditional medicine, Nutmeg and Mace are used for illnesses connected to the digestive system and the nervous system. Nutmeg is the fruit on the national flag of Grenada.
Mace is a digestive stimulant that works like a stomach tonic. She addresses gas, colitis, and other tummy issues. Since digestion begins in the mouth, Mace addresses tooth pain and is used for dental neuralgia. For arthritis and rheumatism, Mace is known to help relieve pain. She is a heart and brain stimulant that helps curb nervous tension. When we feel restless at night or suffer from insomnia, Mace helps to calm the nervous system and ground our energies down. She addresses kidney disease and wasting disease. She also helps promote the Moon Cycle when it hasn't come.
Energetically, Mace is a chi-warmer that helps to address stress by calming our energy down. She brings the mind and heart in sync, helping us to feel centered and balanced. Mace helps confusion, builds insight, and instills a sense of safety and protection. When we are ready to have a strong outer shell, Mace shares her gifts for our greatest and highest good.
Anoint 5-10 drops of Mace over the area of concern, 2-3 times a day for 120 days. Document your experience and re-evaluate the protocol after the 120 days. Use intention, prayer, and reverence with every usage.
