Aromatherapy Share: Essence of the Week - Opoponax (Comifera Guidotti)....

This week we are bathing in one of our favorite wild-harvested resin essences, Opoponax. From Somalia, this amazing tree resin oozes out of the bark of a tropical, evergreen tree. When the tears harden, they are removed from the tree and steam distilled for medicine. Opoponax is anti-viral, anti-parasitic, and anti-infectious. She helps with inflammation in the body, as well as wound healing. As a lung tonic, Opoponax helps asthma, bronchitis, excess mucus, and a cough. She is wonderful for digestion and addresses colitis, diarrhea, and dysentery. Energetically, Opoponax asks us to be more accountable for our actions, more present in the moment, and more positive in our outlook. She supports us in carrying out the Divine Plan, even when life feels extremely challenging. She helps us become more free to follow the heart and take responsibility for our life decisions by following the inner guidance we are receiving.
