Aromatherapy Share: Plant Medicine To Enhance Meditation & Intuition...

All plants are connected to the Earth, and therefore they can be grounding. Some elevate and uplift us, and others calm us down. However, certain plant teachers are wonderful allies during our meditation practices. Our favorite essences to meditate with are Cade, Frankincense, Palo Santo, and Buddha Wood.


Cade is a small, coniferous tree in the Juniper family, and is known for warding off evil or dark energies. As a protector and skin and hair medicine, Cade is a wonderful ally for calming and centering. We like to anoint a few drops to the crown of the head, and put one drop onto the tongue and rub it onto the roof of the mouth before meditating. She helps to bring the energy bodies back into alignment, promotes forgiveness and self-compassion, helps to release the past, let go of fears, and heal past abuses and traumas.


Frankincense is the resin of a small deciduous tree. As a medicine and spiritual tool for the past 5,000 years, Frankincense is known as "a gift from the Gods" or "real incense" that was always reserved for royalty. We like to anoint drops to the third eye, nape of the neck, and heart before meditation to promote the journey into the highest self. Frankincense is known as a Divination tool, meditation guide, forgiveness promoter, and empowering medicine for rituals and ceremonies that helps us let go of that which no longer serves the highest good.


Palo Santo is the heartwood of an aromatic tree that is known as "holy wood" or a "sacred tree". She has long been used as a spiritual purifier that clears misfortune, negative thoughts, and "evil" spirits. Before meditation, we like to anoint Palo Santo onto our wrists and rub into the neck and heart to ground, center, purify, uplift, and restore tranquility. Palo Santo helps to heal emotional trauma, depression, and stress as it opens the lungs, boosts immunity, and helps to purify the air we breathe.


Buddha Wood is the heartwood and bark of a small native Australian tree. She helps to bring peace and calm when dealing with grief, sorrow, anxiety, and stress. Before meditation, we like to anoint her to crown of the head, third eye, nape of the neck, and bottoms of the feet. Buddha Wood supports the healing of abuse and trauma by instilling inner strength. She helps us get back into our bodies in order to feel whole once again. This powerful tree spirit is amazing as an immune booster and anti-viral medicine that helps us focus the mind and spirit on peace while relaxing and calming the body.


Together, these essences will help to enhance the meditation process by helping to calm, ground, and center the being in a slower, more one-pointed and focused vessel that is open to receive.
