Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu
"May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all."
Lokah is the location, or realm of creation, and all universes that exist in this time and space. Samastah is the fact that all beings share in this experience of location together. Sukhino is the state of joy and happiness that is free from suffering in any way. Bhav is the state of consciousness that connects to the oneness of all of creation. Antu is another way of saying "so it is, it is done". By using the Word to state Truth, the universe responds with that Truth. This prayer together is a sacred reminder of our interconnectedness. We are only as strong as our weakest link, and none of us can rise until we all do. This prayer leads the soul to eternal happiness, service, compassion, kindness, and Love without condition. Whatever energy we put out there, it will naturally come back to us and to our lives. This prayer holds space for us to pray and wish the best for all forms of life, while being part of the change we wish to see.
