Poem of the Week: Facing the Darkness...
To face the darkness is to face the Light,
They create a dance between day and night.
The dawn shines Light on the reality we face,
The night offers rest that brings us the grace.
In the dark stillness of the night sky,
Silence holds space to process and cry.
Confronting the truths that are painful to see,
Yet staying open to forgive and be free.
The darkness holds the master key,
It's the portal into healing the misery.
Facing the stories they said were forbidden,
Leading to the destiny that's been written.
At some point everyone faces the dark,
Emotions flood through when we embark.
Contemplating in presence with the breath,
Praying for Love and feeling the depth.
It takes courage to face the darkness inside,
Most people do everything they can to hide.
There's an opportunity for the heart to heal,
And to stop numbing in order to feel.
For the darkness teaches us to forgive,
To be grateful for this life and to live.
Whether we choose to go deep or not,
We have to remember what we've got.
