The Earth has existed for billions of years,
Long before humans became profiteers.
The laws, cycles, and flow of nature,
Have helped sunny deserts and icy glaciers.
All living beings part of the circle of life,
From swimmers to walkers to birds taking flight.
A system designed to cleanse and renew,
From birth to death to then starting anew.
Calm nights and great storms that weather,
Working through different challenges together.
As stewards of the land, air, and sea,
We are designed to serve and let nature be.
Breathing the air, drinking water, and farming,
Nurturing the environment, instead of harming.
Staying humble and working together,
Not manipulating the sky or controlling the weather.
Taking responsibility for our part at each turn,
Keeping an open heart that's willing to learn.
Understanding that all life is interconnected,
And that the planet needs to be protected.
Waking up to the reality at hand,
Seeing what is needed and taking a stand.
We must act in ways that are righteous and good,
Living respectfully and with care like we should.
Waking up to the slumber of the ego,
Seeing this sacred planet as an amigo.
Taking time and energy to self-correct,
Doing what's right by passing laws that protect.
Understanding the importance of our planet,
By caring for the sky, the seas, and the granite.
