Meaning:
"We meditate on that most adored Supreme Lord, the Creator, whose Divine Light illuminates all realms of our being. May this Divine Light illuminate our minds, our hearts, our bodies, and our spirits.
Gaitri Mantra is the mother of the Vedas and is said to have three names - Gaitri is the physical senses, Saraswathi is the power of speech, and Savitri is the master of prana or life force. All three of these are present in everyone and represent purity of thought, word, and deed. When we meditate to this mantra, we are said to bring awareness to the five elements, the five airs in the body, and the five sheaths that encase the true essence of our spirit, or Atma. It is a mantra of peace, joy, happiness, prosperity, and Divine grace, and is said to strengthen concentration of the mind, keep darkness and negativity away from the heart, and bring physical healing to the body. Gaitri Mantra is a mantra of safe keeping, unity of all of creation, and reverence to the Divine. It is said to be a complete prayer for protection, nourishment, and liberation. This is a Universal Prayer that acknowledges the power of the Sun as the source of all energy and all of creation. The Sun is both the symbol of the heart and the Creator or "Light" itself.
