The beginning of the year always leaves us reflective. Where have we come from? Where are we going? We set intentions and have good hearts, and then we get into the human experience and sometimes lose sight of what is important. We are in a window of time and space to open our eyes to who we are in the world, and what our purpose is for living. How are we treating ourselves, each other, and the planet? Many belief systems remind us that we only have to BE to have a spiritual existence. To simply BE is to live harmoniously, joyfully, passionately, and vibrantly as who we are. It is following the heart, learning and growing from life itself.
There is a proverb that says, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions". When we try to make something happen or control something in our lives, we lose sight of the meaning of life. When we allow someone or something to influence what we accept as our reality, we give our energetic power away. Life is a flow, it is natural, and it is intuitive. Creating something out of the passion and Love of the act of the creation manifests something magical. When we do that same thing out of a drive for money, power, or status, it changes everything. We become the human race, searching to fix something or get to a certain status. Are we here to be perfect or to one-up other people? Do we have something to prove to ourselves or to others? It is time to scroll out to the bigger picture and look at ourselves in the world. We are each a small part of the whole, and a vital ingredient in the transformation that is evolving in the collective consciousness. As we each express our uniqueness by being ourselves, we are contributing to this evolution. The seasons remind us how natural these changes happen, so there is nothing to fear. Our natural state of BEing experiences these seasonal shifts in its own way.
As our beloved Betty White once said, "You better realize how good life is while it's happening, because before you know it, it will all be gone." May her spirit live on in each of us, as she was someone who lived her life fully and authentically. She Loved all forms of life, and she gave back to causes that supported life on this planet. She didn't take herself too seriously, but she honored herself and what she was passionate about doing. May we find creative ways to live at peace with ourselves, each other, and our Earth home, while doing what we Love, and may we live and let live through the power of Love.
