Weekly Insights: One Drop In The Vastness of Existence...

Even though it is hard to conceive, we understand on some level that we are a speck of sand in an ocean of existence. Yet, when we talk with one another, we can sometimes speak from a place of "knowing" that our perceptions are the truth. How can we possible know the whole truth when we only have a small sliver of the greater perspective of what is real? We see through a tiny pinhole of an entire doorway of reality. Not only are we living in a very small aspect of the big picture, but we only see, hear, feel, and experience an even smaller aspect of the reality within our personal existence. No matter how small that perspective may be, it is our personal truth, and that truth is part of the greater truth. The problem is that we don't always remember that we only have a partial view of what is real, and none of us has the entire picture. This leaves room for the ego to run wild if we allow it to. It is easy for us to convince ourselves and others that we have all of the answers, but the truth is that none of us can possibly know it all.

We see through the lenses of our planetary astrology, which makes things look a certain way and have a certain energy. If we could see from viewpoint of everyone's lenses, we would be much more compassionate, open-minded, and understanding with one another. When we stop and think about this concept, it can be extremely humbling. Humility is the only genuine virtue that supports us in approaching each other and our different perspectives. The truth sometimes exists outside of what we want to be true. The ancient mystics say that the truth is what makes the eyes tear, as it is oftentimes difficult to hear.

As humans, it is very challenging for us to believe that we are perceiving things incorrectly, or that we don't have some control over our realities in a world that is filled with paradoxes. There will always be a slew of evidence to validate our personal viewpoints online, whether they are true or not. In this world of AI, there might even be videos and "experts" talking on any given topic. Instead of looking for more evidence of why we are right, or only sharing one side of any given coin, it is more important to listen to all angles before deciding if something is true. The truth is oftentimes found somewhere in the middle of the extremes. Sometimes the truth is revealed to us in the moment with a feeling or deep sense of inner "knowing". Learning from one another, being open to different perspectives, and allowing ourselves to look through the eyes of a different lens can help us have a more holistic outlook. A holistic perspective is much closer to the truth than a slanted one based on our attachments to what we want to be true.

The truth is ever-evolving, as every moment is filled with evidence of a reality that can be perceived. Depending on who is there and what viewpoint they have, the truth is the ocean that we can swim in, but cannot control. Whomever is present in the vast waters of truth is able to share their personal viewpoint, but they cannot share those of the others around them. Each of us can have a relationship with the truth, but none of us can fully know all of the truth. Together, we are able to work toward greater understanding. We only need to get out of our own way, stay humble, listen to the inner and higher voice, and listen to the voices of one another. When we let go of the need to be right, when we can stay present in every moment, when we can listen and follow the heart, and when we can remain open to learning and growing from the world around us, then we can merge with truth and align with it. May we each know the truth, live in truth, and be guided by the truth. It shall always set us free!
