This time of year invites traditions, rituals, and celebrations of the Spring Season. Every major religion is in the middle of one of their most sacred times of the year. At the heart of all of them is the acknowledgement and practice of sacrificing something for a greater purpose. For the Christians, Lent is a 40-day period of self-reflection and letting go of something in order to atone for sins, which ends in the resurrection of "life over death" on Easter. For the Muslims, Ramadan is a month-long fast where they avoid eating and drinking from sun-up to sun-down each day in order to reflect on themselves and offer a sacrifice of devotion to Great Spirit. For the Jews, Passover is a holiday of liberation and freedom that was symbolized through a sacrifice for Great Spirit. It's represented today on the Seder plate by a slaughtered lamb, or beets, avocados, and sweet potatoes for non-meat eaters. The topic of letting go for a greater purpose is a common spiritual theme this week. In order to achieve a higher purpose, to grow spiritually, or to practice the art of devotion to something greater, the art of sacrifice has been practiced and celebrated since antiquity. It is used as a type of purification process in order to reset the self or start anew. Sacrifices are made to help manifest health, wellness, happiness, and freedom for an entire community, or perhaps for the entire multiverse. Our sacrifices work as offerings to the higher world in order to bring Light to our prayers while purifying our energies. It is a meaningful process of metamorphosis that we are encouraged and blessed to practice during this time of year in order to raise our spiritual frequency and enhance our personal vibration.
Some souls incarnate in order to make a sacrifice for the greater evolution of humanity. There are great leaders, martyrs, saints, and sufferers who have given their lives for a cause. Looking back at history, there are so many inspiring stories that lead back to one person who gave it their all so that others could have it all. Not every human is that brave or that invested in a helping others. Humans have a natural instinct to preserve themselves first. It is primal. However, for some, they feel they will never be truly free until everyone is free. Others are willing to make smaller sacrifices in order to help cleanse and find harmony with whatever has personally fallen off balance. Every small personal sacrifice leads to larger and greater global changes over a longer period of time. It's all about our little private adjustments and the moments when we can truly be honest with ourselves in order to seek a middle path that is far away from extremes. Our efforts matter and make a difference, and we wish everyone the very best this season as we simplify, tune up, and reach higher in order to manifest a more meaningful and blessed reality.
