Each of us holds the stories of our ancestors through the various influences we have karmically evolved from. Whether it came from our mother or father's side, our parents, teachers, caregivers, friends, or other imprints like our past lives, time in the womb, or the environment we grew up in, there is no avoiding the mental tapes that have been recorded deep inside of us. This is where our spiritual work begins. Once we can hear the inner dialogue being spoken, then we can discern where it is coming from. It may be based on past conditioning, religious beliefs, outer expectations, survival patterns, cultural viewpoints, or indoctrinated "truths". Wherever it comes from, we can hear it loudly whenever we are faced with a choice to make for ourselves or for others. Instead of blindly following what we have been told to do, say, or believe, we can spend time listening to the higher voices and guidance that is available to us all. To hear these "higher" voices, we have to slow down, become quiet, and listen by tapping in to the intuitive thoughts and feelings we are having repetitively. There is an inner knowing that is validated through various signs and symbols that appear randomly and Divinely. When we are able to recognize these signs, listen to them, and then trust them as guidance, then the soul has a clear pathway of communication and higher guidance. Once we have a signal from the soul within, then we can tap into the voice of direction that tells us when we need healing, when it is best to retreat versus pursuing our passions, and when to expand vs contract in mind, body, and spirit.
In order to win the war of good versus evil in our own lives, we have to rise above the chatter of the world. There is a greater and higher purpose for each of us to pursue that is way beyond what someone else may or may not believe. We are all imperfect, and at the same time, each of us is whole, complete, and perfect as the people we are right now. Our experiences and feelings are real and valid, and when we are able to express them freely, we can hear the soul's voice more clearly. When we suppress or over-simplify our experiences and traumas, don't allow ourselves to feel how we feel, or over-intellectualize what the world believes instead of trusting the self, then we block the higher guidance of the soul. It is vital that each of us allows ourselves to feel sadness along with acceptance, anger along with clarity, and disappointment along with healing boundaries. We can move past our pains and challenges without ignoring, postponing, trying to fix, or over-explain them in the process. The truth is the ultimate freedom that leads to more profound healing and deeper spiritual expansion.
The ultimate betrayal is not one against another person, but against oneself. When we don't listen to the soul, and instead choose to ignore the signs, personal boundaries, or intuitive hits, then we will continue to suffer through this deep life lesson. Spiritual maturity comes from listening inside instead of outside. We are able to develop a deep relationship to the soul essence of who we are by talking to that voice daily. By asking the soul to reveal what needs to be known right now, we can invite in prophetic dreams, repetitive patterns of thoughts or guiding visuals signs, energetic and emotional shifts, epiphanies, mental clarity, physical sensations, and/or a deep inner knowing of what to do next. Developing this communication and trust with the soul essence is a lifelong gift and practice that will only strengthen over time.
When we stop and ask one another what the soul is sharing, most people will take a deep breath and offer a very honest and grounded answer. Deep within, we know exactly what is best for us. Whether or not we follow this basic guidance is up to us individually. The inner truths that live inside the heart anchor in our Light without much effort. All we have to do is listen to the guidance and follow the direction of the soul at every twist and turn that life throws our way. It sounds simple, but it takes discipline and self-Love to do it consistently. After we are done learning "the hard way", then it becomes easier to follow our inner guidance. One day at a time, one breath at a time, the journey will unfold for each of us as it is supposed to. We are both the key and the door to our own spiritual evolution. All we have to do is realize and acknowledge this in our lives, and honor the gifts of the higher world. We are truly blessed and guided on this sacred path of the heart when we can open our eyes to the infinite blessings that we receive each day.
