Essence of the Week: Tarragon

Tarragon is a bushy, perennial shrub from France with a deep history in medicine and the culinary arts. In Latin and Arabic, Tarragon means "Little Dragon", due to her twisting roots that look much like a dragon's tail. Tarragon is known as the "King of Herbs" in France.

Tarragon is a digestive healer that can be used for gas, colitis, anorexia, intestinal worms, and hiccups. She helps to heal the heart, palpitations, and circulation problems. Tarragon is great for pain, and can be used for arthritis, rheumatism, cramps, and spasms. She is wonderful for the Autonomic Nervous System and nerve conditions like neuritis, sciatica, and neuro-muscular pain. Tarragon is anti-parasitic and good for intestinal worms. She is also anti-viral and helpful for strengthening the body and its immune response.

Energetically, Tarragon is an emotional harmonizer. She helps to balance the dualities of yin and yang, negative and positive, and feminine and masculine. Tarragon helps to clear past abuses out of one's energy field, fears around power, and shadows of darkness inside one's heart. This amazing healer supports one in clearing abuses of the past without being self-destructive. She is the dragon that brings the power to clear and cleanse darkness.
