Poem of the Week: Healing The Shadows...

The eyes envision the external world so bright,

It's much easier to see what is in the Light.

Entering the depths of the darkness within,

The bottom of the cave is where to begin.

There are stories there of trauma and pain,

With deeper lessons and wisdom to gain.

They are locked up behind bars of steel,

Making certain that they will never heal.

Looking around to find the key,

Compassion and Love become the referee.

Back and forth, the energetic battle begins,

But in the end, Love always wins.

Giving a voice to the pain felt so deep,

Offering compassion for the heart to keep.

Inviting it in for the very first time,

Like a prisoner released after a horrible crime.

These shadows are part of a living story,

Without the lesson, there is no glory.

No longer rejecting the parts of the whole,

Acceptance and healing is the ultimate goal.

The cave becomes a place to embrace the past,

Healing the shadows and bringing Light at last.

The power is in Love and not in the pain,

Finding Light in the darkness again and again.

Reclaiming sovereignty and the courage to rise,

An awakening of the soul is the greatest prize.
