Mudra of the Month: Fanning the Heart for Emotional Healing...

It's June, the sixth month of the year, with the planetary influence of Venus, and the power of Love. The heart chakra is the focal point this month, and this moving mudra for the heart is the perfect medicine for our needs. While chanting RaMaDaSa, Lumen de Lumine, or I Am, gently fan the heart to help illuminate Love, compassion, kindness, and grace. The hands are the extension of the heart and the face of the aura, and this posture helps us charge the heart chakra and strengthen the aura. This can be used to help the physical heart as well - allowing for circulation, flow, and expansion into Love.


As one arm bends, the other arm extends. The Yin and Yang help to bring energy in and pull energy out of the Heart Chakra. We charge the heart with Love on one hand, and then we take away darkness on the other. This repetitive flow of movement from Yin to Yang helps us move stagnation, negativity, and blockages. Practice for 120 days and see how this moving mudra practice can serve your heart's needs.


How To Get Into The Mudra:

1. Straighten the spine in a comfortable posture sitting, standing, or laying down.

2. Rub your hands together vigorously.

3. Open the hands and relax the fingers.

4. As the right arm bends and the right hand faces the heart (without touching the body), the left arm straightens and the left hand stays open and straight.

5. Switch, and continue to switch back and forth for the duration of the meditation.

6. Relax your shoulders down and away from your ears.

7. Smile, breathe, and practice while chanting mantra or practicing breath work.
