Mudra of the Month: Mudra for Anxiety Attacks...
Mudra means "To Please", and is a way to invoke the unseen forces for health and happiness. You can literally manifest your destiny with the palm of your hands. Mudras are a type of sign language to the angelic realm. Every day, hire the angels of Light and fire the angels of darkness with Mudra Therapy.
The eighth month of the year is influenced by the planetary energy of Saturn. Saturn is the Lord of Karma, patience, and responsibility that can bring about feelings of isolation, anxiousness, fear, and rigidity when out of balance. Saturn can cause us to contract and go inward to reflect and gain wisdom from our life experiences, but it can also bring up our greatest challenges. When anxiety sets in, this mudra is a quick and easy response that can help to calm everything down and bring us back to neutrality.
To practice the Anxiety Mudra, the thumb is placed on the inside of the third phalanx of the middle finger against the part of the bone that attaches the second and third phalynx's together on both hands. This activation helps to calm us down and neutralize the situation so we can move forward in peace. The middle finger is connected to the pericardium, which is the sack around the heart that protects it. When we have anxiety, the heart is responding to our inner feelings and the imbalances that lead us to the feelings of worry, fear, and anxiousness. By stimulating this point of the middle finger, we are working on the pericardium and the emotions that are causing us distress. Practice this mudra for several minutes when anxiety comes to the surface. Continue to use this hand posture as needed to address all anxiety issues. Use the breath to slow down the mind, and replace fears and worries with things that cause feelings of gratitude and Love.
How To Get Into The Mudra:
1. Straighten the spine in a comfortable posture sitting, standing, or laying down.
2. Rub your hands together vigorously.
3. Bring the thumb tips (Mars) to touch the middle (Saturn) fingers on the inside of the third phalynx's on both hands.
4. Relax your shoulders down and away from your ears, and rest the mudra gently onto the knees.
5. Smile, breathe, and hold the mudra here for 3 - 11 minutes. Chanting the healing mantra "RaMaDaSaSaSaySoHung" or breathing a 3-Point Breath (See Below) is wonderful to do while holding any mudra.
3-Point Breath (Optional):
Inhale for a count of 20, Hold the breath for a count of 20, Exhale for a count of 20. Repeat this breath for 3 - 11 minutes to calm the mind and bring balance to the brain.
