Mudra of the Month: Mudra for Releasing Anger...

Mudra means "To Please", and is a way to invoke the unseen forces for health and happiness. You can literally manifest your destiny with the palm of your hands. Mudras are a type of sign language to the angelic realm. Every day, hire the angels of Light and fire the angels of darkness with Mudra Therapy.

It is the 9th month of the year, and Mars influences our lives with energy, passion, and action. When we don't use our energy to exercise or release the excess, it can burst out of us in the moment. This can manifest as frustration, anger, or even violence. Anger is the emotion that can poison the blood, and Mars rules over the blood. The mudra we are sharing this month can be used when experiencing a manifestation of anger. When it is time to let go of excess energy, cool frustration and anger, and return to a balanced and calm state of being, try this hand posture for 3-11 minutes on each hand.

The middle finger is connected to the pericardium - which is the heart's protective shield. It is also related to the karmic planet Saturn, which slows us down enough to act with wisdom and consciousness. When we hold the middle finger, we are activating these forces to work for us and our highest good. We can also drink lots of water to keep cool, and practice the cooling breath, "Sitali Pranayama". This mudra is meant to be performed on both hands to bring balance and harmony to the emotions, calm the heart, and cool off the frustration, anger, and excess emotional heat.

How To Get Into The Mudra:

1. Straighten the spine in a comfortable posture sitting, standing, or laying down.

2. Rub your hands together vigorously.

3. Grab your middle finger (Saturn) on your left hand with your right hand, relaxing the thumb on top of the base of the finger while resting the other fingers in a straightened posture.

4. Switch hands and repeat with the opposite side for the same amount of time.

5. Relax your shoulders down and away from your ears, and rest the mudra gently in front of the solar plexus.

6. Smile, breathe, and hold the mudra here for 3 - 11 minutes. Chanting the healing mantra "RaMaDaSaSaSaySoHung" or breathing a Sitali Pranayama (See Below) is wonderful to do while holding any mudra.

3-Point Breath (Optional):

Inhale with a curled tongue, allowing the air to hit the tongue and cool down before entering the body. After a long, deep inhale through the curled tongue, close the mouth, and exhale slowly from the nose. Continue this breath for 3-5 minutes.
